Early on in my career, I realized that supporting myself solely with sales of my work did not suit me. I have many friends that are able to do so (and even enjoy the rollercoaster aspects of running their own business!). I have great respect for them and am occasionally inspired to produce my own production pieces. The creative problem-solving process involved in efficiently creating affordable pieces can be a welcome change from the somewhat more self-indulgent one-of-a-kind pieces that I am usually engaged in.
